Notes: It is expected that a first-class luthier will excel at the fundamentals of the craft: joinery, voicing, fit and finish. But Mark Campellone is that rarest of builders who succeeds where so many of his peers fall short, in the crucial dimension of design. Simply put, all of Mark's instruments are beautiful, as pleasing to behold as they are to play. Simple, tasteful, with understated elegance, Campellone guitars draw from the heart of traditional styling, updated with bold, modern flair.

This instrument is from Mark's EP series, and is perfect for the player wanting a open-voiced acoustic archtop with the comfort of a compact, slimmed depth body. Handbuilt at his Rhode Island workshop, the Campellone EP Series is built in the in the classic tradition, with a hand-graduated tap-tuned Sitka spruce top, and solid fine-grained rosewood fingerboard. The back and sides show particularly handsome bookmatched flame, and the neck is carved of a single piece of hard maple, in the fashion of the classic D'Angelico archtops.

With it's finely carved, parallel braced braced top, the Campellone EP is a true acoustic guitar, open and forward, with fine clarity, and an even response along the entire scale. At a phenomenal 5lb. 3 oz, the guitar is feather light, resonant, and very well balanced on the lap or strap. The neck profile is comfy and gently rounded, with smoothly dressed medium frets, and a nimble 24 1/2" scale, idela for fast runs and stretch chords. To faithfully transmit the acoustic voice, the instrument is fitted with a Kent Armstrong Handwound floating humbucking pickup, with volume control, all suspended on the bound black pickguard. A final touch is the prewar style Grover art-deco styled tailpiece, as seen on many fine archtops of the classic era.

This example is in immaculate condition, with 100% original parts and finish, and appears virtually unplayed. Toss it in your gig bag for the club, or the overhead bin for travel: it's the perfect guitar for the player who travels light. An outstanding value in a true US luthier built hand carved archtop guitar. One only: call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original Cedar Creek deluxe black arched plush lined hardshell case.
