Notes: Introduced in 1959, the ES-330TD ("Thin Double-cutaway") combined cutting-edge innovation with traditional design. The slim depth body is a delight for the player to hold. Greatly reducing feedback, the trim profile still retains the graceful lines of the classic Gibson archtops. Best of all, the 330 has a fully hollow body, like the Byrdland, ES-350T, and the famous George Gobel L-5. Ideal for jazz, blues and everything in between, the hollow tone chamber produces a fatter, warmer tone than semi-solid models, and is blissfully lighter in weight. Unavailable since 1972, the ES-330 remains among the most comfortable and versatile electric guitars Gibson ever made.

This example is the most desirable variant of the model, with all nickel hardware, which was discontinued after this model year. The rich vintage tobacco sunburst finish highlights the slab-cut figured maple body to great advantage, and contrasts elegantly with the jet-black pickguard and gold bonnet control knobs. The neck has a gentle "C" profile, slim but not too skinny. The frets are the classic mid 60's medium-jumbos, famously easy to play. The body and neck are exquisitely balanced, and the instrument sits effortlessly on the lap or the shoulder. The original P-90 pickups produce a sparkling tone rich in harmonics.

The condition of the instrument is simply magnificent. Babied its entire life, the guitar has 100% original hardware and is remarkably free of pick, buckle, and thumbwear. Most notably, this fine axe has been lovingly maintained in the personal collection of guitar legend Duke Robillard. On over 50 albums and counting, Duke has recorded with Jay McShann, Jimmy Witherspoon, Ruth Brown, Bob Dylan, John Hammond, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and many more, in addition to his own critically acclaimed solo recordings. Duke's ES-330 is accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity in the original black Gibson alligator hardshell case.

Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

Case: Original Gibson black alligator hardshell case.
