Hardware: 100% original hardware including nickel plated Kluson Deluxe tuners and Frequensator tailpiece, bound five ply tortoise pickguard installed with original bound tortoise pickguard included, adjustable truss rod in peghead. Gold Johnny Smith style floating pickup, with mini volume control and 1/4" jack.

Notes: The Epiphone Triumph (A412) was introduced in 1949, and made by Gibson in Kalamazoo from 1959 to 1968. The guitar combines the acoustic tone of a true carved top with the slim, fast neck of a thinline electric. The Triumph was equivalent in specifications and price to the Gibson L-7C, and made side by side by the same craftsmen. An extremely rare model, only 32 examples of the sunburst acoustic Triumph were made in 1966. The solid quarter-sawn carved spruce top shows tight grain, and produces a bright tone with great snap and projection.

The deep Epiphone cutaway (2 frets more than L-5) allows unrestricted access to the uppermost reaches of the fingerboard. Most remarkable of all is the neck itself, with an exceptionally slender profile reminiscent of the Gibson ES series of the 60's. The slim neck and immaculate frets makes it ideal for fast soloing and chord melody work. A Gold Johnny Smith style floating pickup is attached to a muilti-bound tortoise pickguard and side mounted 1/4" guitar jack. The original bound tortoise guard is included in the case.

The guitar is in excellent condition, and is remarkably free of pick, buckle or fingerboard wear, with just a few scattered lacquer dings, and some normal checking in the original dark sunburst finish. A true acoustic vintage jazz guitar that combines rarity and playability in one attractive package.

Setup: The frets have been inspected and adjusted as necessary; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel strings (.013-.057). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Plush hardshell case.
