Materials: Solid bookmatched figured Koa top, back and sides; solid mahogany neck; solid ebony fingerboard, bridge and bridgepins; solid bone nut; compensated bone saddle; gold Schaller tuners with ebony buttons; abalone peghead logo. Active 9V undersaddle pickup system with endpin jack.
Notes: The Santa Cruz Model 00 is a contemporary adaptation of the classic prewar Gibson Nick Lucas model, a perennial favorite with players and collectors alike. With its extra deep body, the Model H produces a notably full voice in a comfortably compact size, and the 14 fret neck facilitates access to the upper fretboard. This example is crafted of extravagantly figured curly Koa, the rare and spectacular hardwood native to the Hawaiian Islands.
At just over 4lb, the guitar is a wonderfully lightweight and well balanced, and the double tapered bracing with scalloped bass lends warm resonance and excellent projection. The neck profile is a gentle medium C shape, and the action is smooth and low over fine vintage style fretwork on the solid ebony fingerboard.
This versatile model is currently available only in Indian Rosewood, and Koa versions are rarely seen on the vintage market. In gleaming original condition, this handsome guitar is gig-ready with an active undersaddle pickup system with endpin jack. One only: call now.
Setup: This instrument is strung with light gauge bronze strings (.012-.054). The guitar will accommodate lighter strings, according to preference.
