Notes: Luthier Steven Holst has been making fine handcrafted instruments one at a time for over two decades at his shop in Oregon's verdant Willamette Valley, just south of Eugene. With a production of perhaps eight to ten instruments a year, Holst's guitars are not easy to come by, and are rarely seen on the vintage market. His Signature Model is his top of the line, and this example is a rare example with the super jumbo 18" body.

Carved with tonewood of blinding intensity, the full depth Venetian cutaway body is built with a handcarved tap tuned bookmatched spruce top and extravagant AAA tiger flame maple body and neck. Notably light in weight, the guitar is just 6lb. 4oz., truly remarkable for an instrument of its size, and nimbly balanced on the lap or the strap.

The neck has an elegant slightly flattened D profile, with smooth low action over a solid ebony fingerboard. The X braced soundboard is meticulously hand-graduated, and the voice is clear, open and deeply resonant, with the fine, deep bass and sustain hard to find in smaller instruments. The floating Armstrong PAF pickup offers rich, warm amplified tone, with exceptional fidelty as well. Maintained in 100% original condition, this stunning guitar appears virtually unplayed. Full size super jumbos are hard to find from contemporary builders, and this one's a best buy. Call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe black arched plush lined hardshell case.
