Body size at lower bout: 16". Scale length: 24 3/4" Nut Width: 1 11/16"

Materials: Solid mahogany neck; solid rosewood fingerboard; flame maple top sides and back; dual-parallelogram mother of pearl fingerboard inlay and thistle peghead inlay; triple bound top, bound back.

Hardware: Original nickel hardware includes Kluson Deluxe single ring tulip key tuners, trapeze tailpiece with raised-parallelogram crossbar, beveled 5-ply pickguard, 3 way pickup selector switch. Twin Bartolini humbucking pickups, RMC Pow'r Bridge MIDI tunematic bridge with 18 pin output jack; 3 way mini-toggle bridge and pickup selector, black knurled knobs.

Notes: Since its introduction in 1949, the Gibson ES-175 has been the most popular jazz guitar in the world. Originally fitted with a single P-90 pickup, the 175 added a second pickup by 1951, and humbuckers by 1957. The mahogany neck is a feature of the classic models of the 50's and 60's , and produces an instrument that is distinctly lighter in weight, and notably better balanced. The 24 3/4" scale is fast and nimble, and the 16" body is easy to cradle and substantially resistant to feedback.

This example is in superb condition, and has been upgraded with twin Bartolini humbucking pickups, and an RMC Pow'r Bridge MIDI tunematic bridge with a separate 18 pin output jack. This gives the guitar the ability to combine conventional magnetic pickup performance with full MIDI output, capable of driving sound samples or synth signals as varied as the musical imagination can concieve. This unusually versatile guitar is in excellent condition, free of cracks, pickwear, bucklewear, thumbwear or finish checking. The top is finished in a classic vintage sunburst, showing off the tiger flame figure in the maple top, and the back shows satiny rollers of figure to great advantage. With smooth low action over immaculate medium jumbo frets, the fingerboard is utterly effortless to play.

A versatile performer, in a distinguished lineage that spans a half century of hard-working guitars.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished as needed; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original black alligator Gibson hardshell case with green crushed velour lining.
