Body size at lower bout: 17", Scale length: 25 1/2"

Finish: Amber blonde finish, nitrocellulose lacquer type.

Materials: Handcarved bookmatched solid carved spruce top; solid handcarved slab-cut maple back; solid birdseye maple sides; Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and compensated bridge, split-parallelogram mother of pearl fingerboard inlays and "crown" headstock inlay; pearl 'fat script' Gibson peghead logo, triple-bound body, bound fingerboard and headstock.

Hardware: 100% original hardware includes nickel-plated trapeze tailpiece with raised parallelogram design; original compensated Brazilian rosewood bridge; original Kluson Deluxe tuners with single-ring tulip pegs; adjustable truss rod; original bound tortoise pickguard.

Notes: An astoundingly well kept example with all original blonde finish, solid carved maple body, and handcarved bookmatched solid spruce top. Bearing one of the last of the original series five digit serial numbers, this instrument was also one of the last guitars to bear the graceful "fat-script" pearl peghead logo, an emblem that had adorned Gibson archtops since the mid-1930's. The 100% original nickel hardware complements the handsome original dark bound tortoise pickguard, and the 'no-hole' Kluson Deluxe tuners are the earliest version of these celebrated machines.

The deep amber blonde finish is all original, without buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. This under-the-bed classic has no cracks, and is otherwise free of all but the most incidental play wear. The neck profile is full but not clubby, the action is fast and low, and the voice is big and woody. A big band boomer, this guitar has an exceptionally warm, open and resonant voice, and is gig-ready with fresh pro frets on a dead-level fingerboard. Even the original brown wrinkle Gibson hardshell case is in barely used condition. One of the prettiest blondes we've seen in quite awhile, she's an exceptionally fine example of our most popular Gibson ever.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

This instrument is strung with medium gauge strings (.013-.057). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original Gibson brown hardshell case.
