Serial #: AK1500050, Westerly, RI label

Body size at lower bout:16" Scale length: 24 3/4" Nut width: 1 11/16" Body depth: 3 3/8"

Materials: Highly flamed arched maple top, back and sides; three piece solid mahogany neck; rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlay; 3-ply body binding, bound fingerboard; bone nut.

Hardware: All-original hardware includes contoured harp style tailpiece; compensated ebony bridge; Grover Rotomatic tuners; art deco stairstep pickguard; twin Guild humbucking pickups and controls.

Notes: The Guild X-150 Savoy was introduced in 1954 as a direct competitor to the Gibson ES-175. Almost half a century later, the comfortable neck, smooth tone and handsome full depth Venetian cutaway body make the Savoy an attractive choice for the serious player looking for exceptional value.

This guitar is one of the last products of the Guild's famed Westerly, RI plant, just before the venerable firm was moved to California by Fender. The care booklet in the case bears a 2002 copyright, and with its Westerly label, this guitar must have been one of the final Rhode Island Guilds to roll off the line.

Built since its inception with a single pickup, this remarkable guitar is factory equipped with twin Guild humbuckers, and is the only such example we've ever seen. With an eye-catching tiger flame maple body, the natural blonde finish is handsomely ambered, and the guitar is in virtually unplayed condition. The humbucking pickups are smooth and detailed and the gentle D profile neck has smooth low action over vintage style medium fretwork.

A true classic, and a classic American pro-quality archtop, at a price below most import copies. One only: call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe Guild arched black plush hardshell case.
