Body size at lower bout: 14" Sides at endblock: 4 1/4" Scale length: 24 3/4" Nut width: 1 11/16" Neck Depth: .90/1.0, 1st/10th frets

Materials: Solid spruce top; Honduras mahogany back and sides and neck; solid Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge; mother of pearl dot fingerboard inlays; 3-ply top binding, small teardrop tortoise pickguard, nickel Kluson Deluxe tuners, bone nut, adjustable truss rod, pearl dot rosewood bridge with bone saddle.

Notes: A wartime model introduced in 1943, the Gibson LG-1 was the firm's most popular flat top, until the debut of the budget LG-0 in 1957. With its ultra-light construction, tall skinny lateral braces, and stiff resonant soundboard, the LG-1 combines compact size with jumbo guitar projection and sustain. Discontinued in 1968, the LG-1 remains a best buy in a true vintage Gibson classic.

At barely 4lb in weight, this instrument is a delight to hold, and rewarding to play, with a brilliant, open voice of tonewood seasoned over 60 years. The guitar has the prewar style rectangular bridge, Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, and larger pointed pickguard, all signature touches of Gibson's Golden Era.

Maintained in fine shape, this handsome guitar shows no apparent cracks, and its Cremona sunburst finish is remarkably free of pick, thumb, or buckle wear. A pair of tiny filled mounting holes at the soundhole and lower treble bout suggest this guitar had a surface-mounted pickup like a DeArmond removed some time ago, with no jack installed in the endpin or side.

A delight to hold and play, the neck has a nice full C profile, solid but not clubby, with smooth low action over fine original fretwork, and a fresh high-precision setup. A vibrant player, in a comfy, compact size, with the clear, full-throttle voice only decades of age and play can bestow. One only: call now.

Case: Original brown faux-alligator fiber case.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings.
