Nut Width: 1 3/4" Scale Length: 25" Body size: 16" Body depth: 2 1/2"

Finish: Vintage amber blonde finish, nitrocellulose type

Materials: Solid bookmatched handcarved spruce top; solid quilted flame maple body; tiger flame maple neck; solid ebony fingerboard; multi-ply binding; polished bone nut

Hardware: All original hardware includes contoured ebony tailpiece, compensated adjustable ebony bridge. Gold Grover tuners with ebony keys, Kent Armstrong PAF humbucking pickup with volume and tone control, endpin jack.

Notes: Handcrafted of spectacularly extravagant quilted and tiger flame maple, the McKerrihan Keenan is an innovative design, with a zero-soundlhole design that is highly feedback resistant, a particular challenge on carved top instruments in general. At just 5lb, 10oz., the instrument is particularly lightweight, and the slim 2 1/2" body depth fits snugly under the arm.

The neck is equally well crafted, with a slim, gentle D profile that's a pleasure to hold. Body and neck are hand carved of extravagant AAAA quilted and tiger flame maple, and the Kent Armstrong PAF humbucking pickup provides warm, accurate amplification and incomparable adjustability. Designer touches include all handmade ebony hardware, abalone and pearl split-block inlay, and the sort of meticulous fit and finish found only on the finest luthier built instruments.

This example is in outstanding condition, 100% original, without cracks, pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Apart from a few tiny lacquer nicks, the instrument appears virtually unplayed. Smooth low action over a solid ebony fingerboard, with a fresh high-precision setup. The voice is warm and rich, and will stand up solidly to the higher volumes of club and combo work.

McKerrihan instruments are rarely seen on the vintage market, and offer custom handbuilt US luthier quality, at a price many pay for plywood imports. One only: call now.

Case: Original deluxe black arched plushlined hardshell case.
