Notes: The Gibson CS-356 model is an innovative guitar, designed to offer a compact 14" thinline style body distinctly lighter than 335 style guitars, and permitting unimpeded access to the entire range of the 22 fret fingerboard. Introduced in 2001, the CS models are successors to the ES-336 and 346 Paul Jackson Jr. models, and are Gibson's first 'tonally carved' guitars, with a semi-hollow body carved from a single piece of mahogany, capped with a hardwood top.

The CS-356 is the flagship model of the series and is appointed like the top-line ES-355, with Super 400 style peghead inlay, L-5 style fingerboard blocks, bound tortoise guard, and all-gold hardware including classic Kluson style tulip key tuners.

This guitar is an outstanding example of the flame top version, with extravagantly figured bookmatched tiger maple soundboard. Its compact size is ideal for extended play on the lap or the strap, and the action is smooth and low over a gentle D profile neck with a compound radius fingerboard, and a fresh high-precision setup. An special plus are the additional Gibson Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups installed, whose Alnico II magnets and slightly unbalanced coils are the most accurate reissues of the original PAF pickups Gibson has ever offered. (The original '57 Classic pickups are included in the case as well.)

A highly desirable instrument for the serious performer or collector, this gleaming example is in showroom condition, with original case, tags, and Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity. One only: call now.

Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

Case: Original deluxe Gibson logo black arched plush lined hardshell case.
