Notes: San Diego based luthier Victor Baker crafts archtop guitars meticulously by hand, and his artist roster includes the likes of Peter Bernstein and other top players. Commissioned to recreate a series of D'Angelico Master Builder archtops, Baker's work has been recognized as among the most accomplished of modern builders.

His Model 14 Thinline is crafted of all solid woods, bookmatched, quartersawn and hand carved throughout. Built expressly for the working player, the chambered Venetian cutaway body is fitted with twin humbucking pickups, and a solid, hand graduated spruce top. Crafted of handsome ribbon mahogany in the back, sides and neck, the guitar has a compact design that is comfy on the lap or the strap. The top edge of the rim is relieved a bit at the lower bout for additional comfort under the arm as well.

The neck features a comfy D profile that is easy in the hand, with smooth low action over a solid ebony fingerboard with a standard 1 11/16" width. With smooth, low action over a fresh high precision setup, the instrument plays effortlessly, and is feedback resistant at virtually any volume level. Well maintained, the guitar is in excellent original condition, without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Apart from a few lacquer nicks at the top of the headstock, the instrument shows few signs of play altogether.

The pot codes on the guitar date from 2007, which give us an approximate vintage for this fine instrument. A marvel of performance and comfort, this hand crafted wonder is a joy to play and a true best buy in a top-flight luthier built guitar. One only, call now.

Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished. Nickel flat wound strings installed.

Case: Original deluxe arched plush lined hardshell case.
