Materials: Solid bookmatched figured Indian rosewood back and sides; solid bookmatched Sitka spruce top; solid one-piece Honduras mahogany neck; solid ebony fingerboard; rosewood peghead veneer; solid ebony bridge with compensated Tusq saddle; gold Gotoh tuners w/ebony pegs; contoured black pickguard, adjustable truss rod, Fishman Aura Onboard Preamp System, with stereo endpin jack.

Notes: The first dreadnought guitars were built by CF Martin in 1916, on special order for the Oliver Ditson Company. Named after a contemporary battleship design, the dreadnought was the largest production steel string guitar of its day. In 1930, Martin introduced its own dreadnought models, still retaining the 12 fret bodies of the Ditsons. Finally, in 1934 the company debuted the 14 fret square shoulder body, a model that has become Martin's most popular guitar, and the most influential flat top of all time.

We are pleased therefore to offer this most innovative addition to the dreadnought series, the Martin DC-AURA. Designed for the contemporary player, the guitar offers a 14 fret cutaway body, scallop braced Sitka spruce soundboard, and a handsome Indian rosewood body. Premium touches include 45 style abalone purfling and open hexagon inlays on the solid ebony fingerboard.

Most notably, the guitar features the Fishman Aura Onboard Preamp System, featuring a 3 band EQ, anti-feedback filter, digital chromatic tuner, and a unique blend control that allows the player to mix the pickup signal with an entire gallery of iconic guitar voicings from Fishman's free Aura Image Library.

This striking guitar is custom finished in a brilliant cherryburst lacquer, with echoes of the fabled 60's era Gibson Hummingbird. The acoustic voice is clear and resonant, with powerful, ringing bass and vibrant sustain. The comfy low oval mahogany neck has smooth low action, with a fresh high precision setup over the 14 fret neck, with its extended cutaway for enhanced access to the full range of the uppermost frets.

Maintained in gleaming condition, the guitar is free of pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, and showing only a few scattered pick marks on the pickguard. Now unavailable for some years, this full-featured model combines the best of traditional tone with brilliant contemporary technology. One only: call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings, with action set to 4 6/4" to 5/64" at the 12th fret. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference.

Case: Original Martin black molded plush lined hardshell case.
