Notes: Few have done more to further the craft of the modern guitar than California luthier Tom Ribbecke. Since founding his first workshop in San Francisco in 1972, Tom has produced not only master quality instruments but master quality luthiers themselves, in workshops and videos that have made him a legend among builders worldwide. Now relocated to scenic Sonoma County, Ribbecke continues to produce hand built masterworks of stunning quality for a few lucky players each year.

This striking instrument is a gleaming example of his Electric Halfling model, an innovative design that employs asymmetrical tone chambers, tuned an octave apart fro enhanced resonance. The solid cedar soundboard is slightly microphonic as well, adding harmonic complexity to the tone, and the tailpiece and bridge are soundly anchored into a solid hardwood block for stability and sustain.

This handsome example is constructed with a bookmatched Alaska cedar soundboard, extravagantly figured lacewood body, and hand crafted ebony fingerboard and pickguard. The neck has an elegant gentle D profile, with a generous 1 3/4" nut, and a fine solid feel. The custom SD pickups offer exceptional presence and nuance, as well as superior feedback resistance, making the Electric Halfling and exceptionally versatile player for a variety of styles.

Tom Ribbecke's guitars are a rare and welcome find on the vintage market. We are pleased to offer this outstanding creation in exceptionally fine condition. One only: call now.
