Notes: Rosewood: its lustrous grain has made it the world's most coveted material for premium musical instruments. And for a limited number of lucky players, this lush tropical tonewood will grace one of the most iconic guitars of the mid-century era.

In 1958, Gretsch introduced the Chet Atkins Tennesseean. Designed in collaboration with Nashville's most famous instrumentalist, the 6119 drew upon Chet's long recording and performing experience to create an exceptionally versatile, highly playable electric instrument.

The fully hollow body, slimmer in depth than conventional archtops, lent a more comfortable feel. A handily placed master volume control facilitated dynamics during play. By the following year, the Tenny was factory equipped with a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece as standard equipment.

This striking reissue recreates the specs of the '62 version, with a slimmed 2" body depth, twin TV Jones Classic Filter-Tron style pickups, Gretsch logo Bigsby tailpiece, and feedback resistant hollow body, with the signature painted f-holes. Premium touches include the all gold hardware, and the stunning rosewood body, available only in this limited edition model, now out of production.

This example is in immaculate showroom condition, without apparent playwear. The guitar has a fine, versatile voice covering the gamut from bebop to rockabilly, with action smooth and low over a comfy, gentle C profile neck, tradidional narrow fretwork, and a fresh high precision setup.

An unusually attractive interpretation of a historic model, this handsome guitar comes complete with its original black Gretsch logo plush lined hardshell case. A Tenny played is a Tenny heard: one only, call now.

Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

Setup: This instrument is strung with light gauge nickel roundwound strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with light relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
