Notes: The Gibson L-7C was produced between 1949 and 1972, and was constructed with the same body size, bracing and scale length to its costly cousin, the L-5C. A perennial player's favorite, the L-7C offered all the performance of the L-5 at a fraction of the cost, with tastefully understated appointments.

One of just 56 examples from its model year, this rare cutaway model has been maintained in remarkably fine condition. At just 5lb, 13oz, she's a particularly lightweight example, and notably well balanced on the lap or the strap. The classic Cremona sunburst finish is all original, and is remarkably free of pick, buckle, or thumb wear, showing only a few scattered lacquer nicks and some normal light checking. The guitar is fitted with all original nickel hardware and original multi-ply binding all tight to the body.

Action is smooth and low, with a fresh precision setup over a classic gently rounded medium profile neck with solid Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. A small peghead repair has been soundly and invisibly executed, and the instrument is fitted with a genuine vintage DeArmond FHC floating pickup, with volume control and 1/4" jack mounted under the guard.

With a particularly open acoustic voice, the guitar has exceptional projection and clarity, and the warmth and woodiness only decades of age can impart. A full size, professional grade jazz box from the Golden Age, this lovely strummer comes complete with its original brown Lifton plush lined hardshell case. The working player's choice, and a compelling reminder of just how fine a nice old Gibson can be. One only: call now.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

Case: Original deluxe brown arched Lifton plush lined hardshell case.
