Notes: The Gibson L-7C was produced between 1948 and 1972, and was constructed with the same body size, bracing and scale length as its costly cousin, the L-5C. While many examples of the model from its later years were built with laminated backs, this handsome guitar features a back carved of nicely figured solid bookmatched flame maple.

At just 5lb, 13oz, this guitar is a happily lightweight example, with exceptional acoustic volume, and excellent clarity and projection. The deep Cremona sunburst finish is all original, and the instrument shows no cracks or repairs. The smooth thumbwear is a clue to its clear, open voice, well seasoned from years of vigorous play. A small patch of pick wear is visible near the pickguard, with some arm and knee wear on the lower bass bout and sides, all a testament it its long professional playing career.

The neck has a classic easy D profile, elegant and refined, with a full width 1 11/16" nut, and smooth low action over fine pro fretwork with a fresh high-precision setup. The instrument is fitted with Kent Armstrong 2D Ultraslim floating humbucking pickup, with thumbwheel tone and volume controls, and endpin jack

A true 60's orange label Gibson jazzer, this guitar has an exceptionally deep, open voice, of the kind earned only through years of age and play. With its fine original arched black Gibson hardshell case, this gleaming guitar is a compelling reminder of just how fine a nice old Gibson can be, at a fraction of the cost of a comparable L-5. One only: call now.

Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

Setup:This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at .070-.080 at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe arched black Gibson hardshell case with gold plush lining.
