Notes: Introduced in 1958, the ES-335TD ("Thin Double-cutaway") cemented Gibson's reputation for cutting-edge innovation combined with classic traditional design. The thin body was easier for players to hold, the inner block enhanced sustain and reduced feedback, and the new PAF humbucking pickups set a new standard for quiet operation, high output, and sweet, fat tone. Small wonder that the 335 became an instant classic, and has remained one of the worlds' most popular electric guitars to this day.

This example is squarely in the tradition with handsome flame maple in the top and back, the nice wide 1 11/16" fingerboard and the comfy light C neck profile of the classic '60 dot necks. The full access 22 fret neck has the compact headstock with its 17 degree angle as well, and vintage style nickel hardware.

The vintage sunburst finish shows the figured maple body to great advantage, and the frets are the classic Gibson medium-jumbos, famously easy to play. The body and neck are well balanced, and the instrument sits comfortably on the lap or the shoulder. The 57 Classic PAF humbucking pickups produce a smooth, high output signal with lots of snap and sustain. In superb condition, without pick, thumb or fingerboard wear, the guitar plays wonderfully, with the smooth sweet bluesy tone for which this model is justly famed. Apart from a few lines of checking and some fogging on the plating, the guitar shows few signs of play altogether. One only: call now.

Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

Case: Original deluxe Gibson plush lined hardshell case.
