Serial #: 569170

Nut width: 1 11/16" Scale: 25 1/2"

Materials: Solid bookmatched figured rosewood back and sides; solid bookmatched Sitka spruce top; solid one-piece Honduras mahogany neck; solid ebony fingerboard; rosewood peghead veneer; solid ebony bridge with bone saddle; Martin Schaller 16X1 tuners.

Notes: The first dreadnought guitars were built by CF Martin in 1916, on special order for the Oliver Ditson Company. Named after a contemporary battleship design, the dreadnought was the largest production steel string guitar of its day. In 1930, Martin introduced its own dreadnought models, still retaining the 12 fret bodies of the Ditsons. Finally, in 1934 the company debuted the 14 fret square shoulder body, a model that has become Martin's most popular guitar, and the most influential flat top of all time.

We are pleased therefore to offer this outstanding Martin D-28 dreadnought, Martin's best-selling rosewood guitar. This gleaming instrument has been maintained in superb condition, with all original hardware and finish, without pick, thumb, buckle or fingerboard wear. Loud and bright, the guitar has smooth low action over fine original fretwork. Often imitated, but never duplicated, this iconic model has defined the voice of the acoustic guitar for almost a century. Call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference.

Case: Original black Martin molded plush lined hardshell case.
