Notes: Chigago luthier Tim Schroeder cut his teeth at the workshop of the legendary Bob Bendetto, where he mastered every aspect of the instrument, from high-grading bookmatched flame maple to tap tuning a soundboard by ear. With over two decades experience in his own workshop in the Fine Arts Building, Schroeder combines an engineer's precision with the passion of the true artisan.

The Concordia Excel is a classic 17" X braced Venetian cutaway acoustic archtop in the Benedetto style, constructed of highly figured tiger flame maple, finely graduated quartersawn spruce, and all handmade ebony hardware. The voice is clear, open, and deeply resonant, and at just 5lb. 8oz. the instrument is exceptionally light in weight. Action is smooth and low over a gentle D neck profile that nestles elegantly in the palm.

To maximize the vibrant acoustic tone of the soundbox, the Concordia is fitted with a custom made Lace floating pickup, specifically balanced for even amplification of bronze wound strings, whose brilliant tone is transmitted faithfully to the amp. All solid, all carved, all hand made, at a price many builders charge for plywood: this remarkable guitar is in immaculate condition, and represents a rare value in a true US luthier quality jazz box.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge phophor bronze roundwound strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Deluxe black arched fitted plush lined hardshell case.
