Notes: Luthier Steven Holst has been making fine handcrafted instruments one at a time for over three decades at his shop in Oregon's Willamette Valley, just south of Eugene. With a production of perhaps eight to ten instruments a year, Holst's guitars are not easy to come by, and are rarely seen on the vintage market.

This custom archtop features a compact 15 " slimline body specifically designed for maximum player comfort. With a solid carved spruce soundboard and solid mahogany body, the Semi Hollow has twin parallel tone bars that span the entire depth of the instrument, creating a hollow center chamber that is light in weight, yet highly resistant to feedback.

At just 5lb 15oz, the guitar is wonderfully light in weight and handily balanced on the lap or strap. The neck profile is a comfy gentle D, with a generous 1 13/16" ebony fingerboard ideal for finger or pick style play. The Seymour Duncan Jazz Model humbucking pickup offers rich, classic amplified tone, with exceptional fidelity. The guitar can be played as a standard electric instrument through its 1/4" jack, but is also fitted with an RMC transducer bridge connected to a separate MIDI output jack. Used in conjunction with the RMC Poly Drive II Controller, which is included, the guitar becomes capable of a virtually unlimited number of sonic variations.

This unique instrument was featured in the February, 2016 edition of Vintage Guitar Magazine, a copy of which is provided with the guitar. Maintained in excellent condition, the guitar is without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, with smooth low action over a fresh high-precision setup. Holst guitars are rarely seen on the vintage market, and new orders can entail a substantial wait.

A brilliant blend of comfort and versatility: one only, call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel flatwound strings (.012-.052). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe arched plush lined hardshell case.
