Materials: Solid bookmatched graduated fine grain spruce top; solid handcarved bookmatched flame maple back and sides; tiger flame maple neck with walnut centerstripes; solid ebony fingerboard; bound body, neck and f-holes; polished bone nut.

Hardware: Original gold hardware includes built-in adjustable Heritage humbucking pickup, trapeze tailpiece with ebony insert, Grover Rotomatic tuners; compensated adjustable ebony bridge, bound ebony pickguard, black barrel volume and tone knobs, adjustable truss rod.

Notes: When Wes Montgomery asked Gibson for a custom L-5CES, he specified just a single pickup, right at the sweeet spot. Who needed the extra weight and hardware? Half a century later, the L-5 Wes is one of Gibson's most popular archtops, commanding a princely sum. How about paying less than half, for a guitar built in that same historic factory, with virtually identical specs?

Handbuilt in Kalamazoo by former Gibson artisans in the old Gibson plant, the Heritage Eagle Classic is an all carved, full depth, professional grade electric archtop designed for the working player. Like the beloved Wes Montgomery L-5 the Eagle Classic shares the same scale and materials, including the solid carved spruce soundboard, parallel bracing, solid carved maple back, sides and neck, and built-in gold humbucker at the end of the long scale, solid ebony fingerboard.

An classic single pickup jazz box, the Eagle Classic is all business, with its clean lines and elegant, understated design. With a warm, classic jazz voice unplugged or through the amp, this classic gig guitar offers excellent sustain and feedback resistance, and smooth low action over a gentle D profile neck, with a fresh high precision setup.

The instrument has been maintained in gleaming condition, without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, and is supplied with its original Heritage deluxe hardshell case. A handbuilt classic at an unbeatable price, and a true best buy in an all-carved US made archtop guitar. One only, call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
