SN#: 1065, signed by the maker, dated 5 Jan 2001

Nut Width: 1 3/4" Scale Length: 25" Body size: 17" Body depth: 3 1/8"

Finish: Vintage amber blonde finish, nitrocellulose type

Materials: Solid bookmatched handcarved spruce top; solid carved fiddleback maple body; tiger flame maple neck; solid ebony fingerboard; multi-ply binding; polished bone nut

Hardware: All original gold hardware includes contoured ebony tailpiece, compensated adjustable ebony bridge, Grover Rotonatic tuners with ebony keys, adjustable humbucking pickup with ebony volume and tone controls, endpin jack.

Notes: With its solid, carved 17" Venetian cutaway body, and single built-in humbucking pickup, the McKerrihan Monk is comparable in design to the Gibson L-5 Wes Montgomery, but with certain distinct advantages. With its generous 1 3/4" ebony fingerboard and gentle D profile, the neck is particularly inviting, and at just 6lb. 5oz, the Monk is a pound or more lighter in weight than a typical new Gibson Wes.

Body and neck are hand carved of AAA bookmatched flame maple, and the built-in pickup improves sustain and deters feedback. Designer touches include all handmade ebony hardware, bound soundholes, and the sort of meticulous fit and finish found only on the finest luthier built instruments.

This rare example is in superb 100% original condition, meticulously cared for, and free of pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Action is smooth and low over a fresh high-precision setup, and the tone is smooth, rich and buttery. With their builder now retired, McKerrihan guitars are rarely seen on the vintage market, and this example delivers top-flight performance at a working player's price.

Well You Needn't bother to look any farther for another Monk: your musical Epistrophy is here. Call now, but please, not 'Round Midnight. We'll be open in the morning.

Case: Original deluxe arched black plushlined hardshell case.
