Notes: Since its introduction in 1949, the Gibson ES-175 has been the most popular jazz guitar in the world. Originally fitted with a single P-90 pickup, the 175 added a second pickup by 1951, and humbuckers by 1957. The mahogany neck is a feature of the classic models of the 50's and 60's , and produces an instrument that is distinctly lighter in weight, and notably better balanced.

The Steve Howe Signature Model features a number of appointments unique to the legendary guitarist's famed 1964 original. Slab cut maple body, all nickel hardware including Grover Rotomatic tuners and T-bar tailpiece, gold barrel speed knobs, vintage toned binding and logo, inlaid ebony bridge base, and hand signed artist label all distinguish this faithful reissue from run-of-the-mill replicas.

This example is in gleaming condition, and finished in a deep, classic vintage sunburst. With vintage style medium '60's frets on a gentle D profile neck, the fingerboard is utterly effortless to play. The 24 3/4" scale is fast and nimble, the '57 Classic humbuckers are fat and sweet, and the 16" body is easy to cradle and substantially resistant to feedback. No longer listed on Gibson's website at this writing, the Steve Howe Signature ES-175 is a true classic, from one of the most versatile guitarists of contemporary music.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished as needed; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original black deluxe arched plush lined Gibson hardshell case.
