Notes: Connecticut luthier James DeCava honed his chops crafting ornate presentation instruments at the old Liberty Banjo Co, and has brought that singular passion for precision workmanship into the archtop world. Handcrafted of spectacular tiger flame maple, the De Cava Stratford Seven String has a compact 16" Venetian cutaway body that's exceptionally comfortable to play, and slings handily into a gig bag. At barely 6lb., the Stratford is notably lightweight, well balanced, and warmly resonant.

Body and neck are hand carved of AAA tiger flame maple, and the Kent Armstrong PAF humbucking pickup provides warm, accurate amplification and superior feedback resistance. Designer touches include all handmade ebony hardware, grained ivoroid body binding and art-deco Grover Imperial tuners. This example is in outstanding condition, 100% original, without cracks, checking, pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. The 2 1/16" neck offers easy fingering, with a slim, gently flattened D profile neck. With an option package bringing the new cost near $7000, and a considerable build time, this immaculate example offers custom built quality at an off-the-rack price.

Case: Original black plushlined hardshell case.
