Materials: Solid handcarved hand split Sitka spruce top; handcarved solid highly figured AAA tiger maple back with matching sides and neck; solid ebony parts including fingerboard, tailpiece, pickguard, headstock veneer, truss rod cover, heelcap and compensated bridge; mother of pearl peghead logo; bound body.

Hardware: Kent Armstrong PAF 7 string pickup with double adjustable polepieces; precision gold 16X1 tuners; custom bound ebony pickguard, abalone inlaid ebony volume and tone knobs, endpin jack.

Notes: It's our pleasure to present another offering from the Big Easy's most celebrated luthier, Jimmy Foster. Rare among builders, Jimmy is also known as an accomplished player in his own right. Most builders offer 7 string guitars as an afterthought. Not Jimmy, a 7 string specialist who's designed his guitars from the ground up. And this may explain a lot about why his guitars are such a joy to play. The notably light weight, barely 6 lb. total, is instrumental to it's open, generous tone, clear and deep all the way to the open low A string. The neck is slim and flat across the back, and rests effortlessly in the hand. Upper fret access is pleasantly enhanced as the neck joins the body at the 15th fret, a Foster exclusive. The 1 15/16" nut allows the hand to adapt more smoothly back and forth from the fingerboard of your conventional six string.

The handcarved body is built from extravagantly figured bookmatched tiger flame maple, and the top is quartersawn graduated Sitka spruce. Custom upgrades include ornate high color abalone inlay in head, fingerboard and tailipiece, bound ebony pickguard, 7 ply body binding and bound f-holes. This instrument is in virtually unplayed condition, without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, and would be over $10,000 to order new, with a wait time of close to two years. Here's a chance to jump the queue and bag a master quality instrument at a bargain price.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel strings (.013-.080). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original black hardshell case.
