Hardware: Solid ebony hardware includes deco-design tailpiece and inlaid compensated adjustable ebony bridge; hand bound ebony pickguard; Grover 16X1 Rotomatic tuners with Imperial keys; Kent Armstrong floating humbucker with volume control, endpin jack.

Notes: It is expected that a first-class luthier will excel at the fundamentals of the craft: joinery, voicing, fit and finish. But Mark Campellone is that rarest of builders who succeeds where so many of his peers fall short, in the crucial dimension of design. Simply put, all of Mark's instruments are beautiful, as pleasing to behold as they are to play. Simple, tasteful, with understated elegance, Campellone guitars draw from the heart of traditional styling, updated with bold, modern flair.

This instrument is from Mark's top-line Special series, and is a stunning example of his finest work, in immaculate condition. Handmade at his Rhode Island workshop, the Campellone Special is a full depth Venetian cutaway guitar in the classic tradition, carved of bookmatched tiger flame maple, with a hand-graduated tap-tuned quartersawn spruce top.

The back shows exceptional bookmatched tiger flame figure, and the neck is criscrossed with rollers of barber-pole flame. The neck profile is a gently flattened D, with smooth low action over perfect medium jumbo frets, in a fingerboard of solid black ebony. The original art-deco styled tailpiece, inlays and truss rod cover, are surely among the most attractive we've seen, and the guitar is supplied with an additional original pickguard, minus electronics, for pure acoustic play.

Careful graduation and lightweight parallel bracing gives this guitar remarkable clarity and depth, with exceptional detail and projection. Ideal for chord melody, soloing and comping alike, this striking guitar combines versatile tone with peerless playability, over a fresh high-precision setup. We can think of no other maker today who delivers so much quality so reasonably. Not surprisingly, value like this has generated quite a backlog. Skip the long wait list, and snag this gleaming example while you can. One only: call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe black Cedar Creek arched plush hardshell case.
