Notes: Paul Bollenback is one of the most adventurous guitarists on the scene today, with credits that include Charlie Byrd, Arturo Sandoval, Herb Ellis, Stanley Turrentine, and Della Reese. Never content to be limited by the tonal range of the conventional six-string, Paul commissioned noted builder John Buscarino to create this innovative instrument, one that combines the tone of a traditional archtop with the polyphonic range of MIDI instrumental voices.

A full depth, hand carved acoustic archtop in the classic tradition, the guitar has an X- braced 17" body, all ebony hardware and fingerboard, and a spectacular birdseye maple back and sides. (Notoriously hard to work, true birdseye maple is one of the rarest variants of figured maple to be seen in modern luthiery.) The 3 piece neck is crafted of highly flamed tiger maple, and the solid fine-grained soundboard shows is tightly interwoven with crossgrain silk. The neck has a gently flattened D profile, and smooth low action over a fresh high-precision setup.

Built to Bollenback's specifications, this remarkable instrument is fitted with a Schaller Tuneomatic style bridge with RMC MIDI saddles, connected to a 13 pin jack, battery well, volume and tone knobs, and twin mini-switches, in addition to the built-in Buscarino humbucking pickup, with its conventional controls and 1/4" jack.

A one-of-a-kind creation, this striking instrument is 100% original, and shows only light playwear, mostly confined to a few pick dents on the upper bass bout near the pickup. A remarkable fusion of digital technology and classic design, the result is an instrument of unparalleled versatility, with access to a virtually unlimited range of tonal colors. One only: call now

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge roundwound nickel strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe black arched plush lined hardshell case.
