Notes: Renowned Northwest luthier Roy McAlister builds his meticulously designed, elegantly crafted instruments at his workshop in Gig Harbor, Washington, in the shadow of the fabled Olympic Mountains, where the tall trees grow. With players including David Crosby, Jackson Browne, Robbie Fulks and Rick Ruskin, McAlister has built a worldwide reputation for immaculate craftsmanship and brilliant tone.

This elegant instrument combines features of some of the most desirable flat top guitars of the 20th century, and suggests its versatility. The compact, gently curved body is reminiscent of the legendary Martin OM, beloved of fingerstylists, and the 13 fret neck harks back to the famed Nick Lucas Gibson, a flatpicker's favorite. Both models employed the fabled Adirondack spruce for their soundboards as well, renowned for its tonal brilliance and projection, but largely unavailable since the war.

The body of this striking instrument is crafted of solid Cocobolo, a rare and handsome tropical tonewood, often compared to Brazilian rosewood in both voice and appearance. The solid mahogany neck has a sleek, gentle C profile that glides effortlessly along the palm, with smooth low action over a solid ebony fingerboard. The lightweight body, tipping in at a mere 4 lb. 5 oz., is deeply resonant, and notably well balanced, on the lap or the strap.

McAlister's guitars combine clarity and detail in a well balanced tonal palette, with exquisite fit and finish. They are rarely found on the vintage market, and this virtually unplayed example is presented with full lifetime warranty, offering the opportunity to skip the wait list and bag a bargain to boot. One only: call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with light gauge (.012) strings, and will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference.
