Notes: John Buscarino is one of the names you'll hear on virtually every short list of the premier contemporary archtop builders. Having worked closely with luthiery legend Bob Benedetto for a number of years, John also studied with the great Augie LoPrizi of classical and flat top fame. His artist list includes George Benson, Russell Malone, Ron Affif, Gene Bertoncini and many more, all keeping Buscarino's handmade instruments in considerable demand.

The Prodigy is an ultra-premium instrument, crafted with all solid, carved tonewoods, and specifically designed to optimize amplified tone, while offering superior feedback resistance. With 4" wooden strips running the length of both top and back, the body of the Prodigy is somewhat stiffer than conventional acoustic archtops, and optimized for playing at higher volumes. The slimmed depth body also helps deter feedback, and in combination with the 16" lower bout makes for an instrument of notable comfort, in the lap or on the strap.

This spectacular example is crafted with gorgeous master quality tonewoods, and is featured on the maker's website portfolio. The neck profile is a solid, gently rounded C, with smooth low action over a fresh high precision setup on the solid black ebony fingerboard. The Buscarino Signature Armstrong humbucking pickups are smooth and detailed, with superior fidelity and resonance.

This example is in 100% original showroom condition, and sports exotic hardwood appointments including the Cocobolo pickguard, tailpiece and control knobs, Snakewood tuning keys, and lustrous curly Koa binding throughout. Rarely found on the vintage market, the Prodigy is an exceptionally versatile choice for the serious player. One only, call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge roundwound nickel strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe lightweight Hiscox molded plush lined hardshell case.
