Notes: The electric version of the L-5C, the L-5CES was introduced in 1951, and has been Gibson's top-line electric guitar ever since. A favorite of pro players from George Barnes to Herb Ellis and Wes Montgomery, the L-5CES is built with solid carved tonewood throughout, all gold hardware, deluxe multi-ply binding, and twin humbucking pickups since 1957.

This superb example is in gleaming condition, and is fitted in its original plush hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity. The tiger flame maple back, sides and neck are particularly vivid, with deep bookmatched fiddleback flame. Neck is a classic gentle D profile, elegant and comfy, and the fretwork is high and perfectly crowned. Tone is warm, rich and sweet, as befits an instrument of its distinguished pedigree. Instrument shows no cracks, pick, buckle, thumb, fret or fingerboard wear. A short lacquer check is visible between the switch and the pickguard bracket; otherwise the instrument appears virtually unplayed.

Highly sought-after worldwide, the L-5CES has been the gold standard for the electric archtop for over half a century. New street price on this model is over $10K: save a bundle and grab this outstanding value while you can. One only: call now.
