Eastman archtop guitars are individually crafted by violin-trained luthiers, without shortcuts, the old-fashioned way. And they share the appointments of the costliest high-end guitars. All at a price point previously dominated by factory plywood boxes.

Designed by innovative Utah luthier Ryan Thorell, the Eastman Frank Vignola Model celebrates one of the most accomplished guitarists on the jazz scene today. With credits spanning from Winton Marsalis to Tommy Emmanuel, Vignola has maintained an unusually prolific schedule of touring, recording and teaching engagements worldwide

Built to his exacting specifications, the Eastman Vignola sports a comfy 15" Selmer style profile, with a solid carved parallel braced spruce soundboard. The 25 3/8" scale optimizes for projection and dynamic range, all conveyed faithfully to the amp by the Jason Lollar Johnny Smith floating humbucker.

With its highly figured ribbon mahogany body and neck, the FV-680 is remarkably lightweight at just 5lb. 9oz. in total, and is deftly balanced on the lap or the strap. The neck profile is well tailored to the palm in a comfy, traditional C profile, with smooth low action over a fresh high precision setup. Graced with Frank's signature 'open leaf' soundholes, the Vignola also rewards the player with an oval sound port in the bass side, right under the ear.

Apart from a few incidental finish nicks. this gleaming example appears virtually unplayed, with all original hardware, electronics, and true lacquer finish, and is accompanied with its original hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity. If you've wanted to step up to the quality of a true hand carved instrument, or are looking for a fine backup guitar for gigs and travel, here's the real thing: a true best buy in a genuine pro-quality archtop. One only: call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel flatwound strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
