Notes: Luthier Steven Holst has been making fine handcrafted instruments one at a time for over three decades at his shop in Oregon's Willamette Valley, just south of Eugene. With a production of perhaps eight to ten instruments a year, Holst's guitars are not easy to come by, and offer outstanding value and performance.

Similar in design to the classic Gibson ES-350 of the early '60s, this custom archtop features a comfy 16" slimline body with a deep Florentine cutaway, for maximum access to the uppermost frets. The arched laminate body provides superior feedback resistance at higher volumes, with enhanced sustain and warmth from the fully hollow construction.

At just 6lb 4oz, the guitar is nicely light and well balanced, with a gentle D neck profile and a generous 1 13/16" solid ebony fingerboard. The Bare Knuckle Stormy Monday humbuckers are handwound with vintage style Alnico II magnets for a warm, classic voice with excellent clarity and detail. 100% original, the guitar appears virtually unplayed, with smooth low action over a fresh high-precision setup.

Holst guitars are rarely seen on the vintage market, and new orders can entail a substantial wait. An ideal choice for both finger and pick style players, or anyone unwilling to grapple with a cramped, skinny fingerboard, this handsome instrument delivers peerless comfort, tone and versatility. One only, call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.012-.052). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe arched plush lined hardshell case.
