Serial #: 52413, blue New York label

Body size at lower bout: 17 3/8" Scale length: 25 1/2". Nut width: 1 11/16"

Finish: Dark sunburst finish, nitrocellulose lacquer type

Materials: Solid handcarved figured maple back and sides; solid bookmatched handcarved spruce top; solid cherry neck with 3-ply walnut/maple centerstripe; ornate vine style mother-of-pearl peghead inlay and distinctive block fingerboard inlays in lightly colored abalone, triple-bound body, bound fingerboard and headstock.

Hardware: 100% original hardware includes gold epsilon-logo tuners and "Patent Pending" Frequensator tailpiece, bound red swirl nitrocellulose tortoise pickguard, compensated rosewood bridge with gold bridge wheels; hex-key adjustable truss rod.

Notes: With the same body, materials and metal parts as the Deluxe, at about half the price, the Broadway sports what some feel is the most graceful Epi inlay ever. The original sunburst finish highlights flame maple back and sides, and a solid handcarved bookmatched spruce top. Block pearl fingerboard inlays, and the graceful vine peghead inlay combine to form one of our favorite design combinations. The tobacco sunburst finish is in excellent condition, with a minimum of pick and buckle wear. The guitar is fitted with all gold hardware, including original Epsilon logo 16X1 tuners, and original "Patent Pending" Frequensator tailpiece.

This handsome guitar shows big tiger flame figure in a bookmatched chevron on the back, and tight fiddleback flame in the sides. A well-played, well maintained example, the guitar is without cracks, and shows all original dark sunburst finish with only light normal playwear, and a trace of an old DeArmond pickup near the end of the fingerboard. Some smooth thumbwear along the neck is a clue to the wide open voice of this instrument. With excellent bridge height and a recent set of smooth pro frets, this Broadway is one of the louder 17" guitars we've seen in awhile, with bark and projection that is simply phenomenal. The action is smooth and low with a very comfy contemporary neck profile. A true horn killer, and handsome as can be, the Broadway is a perennial player's favorite.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridgewheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings (.013-.057). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original brown wrinkle Epiphone hardshell case with blue plush lining.
