Notes: The Epiphone Triumph was introduced in 1932, becoming Epi's most popular pro-sized guitar until the company closed in the 50's. Designed in the height of the big-band era, the Triumph has always been a favorite for players wanting maximum bang for the buck. Built with the same materials, scale length, and body design as the upscale Deluxe and Broadway models, the Triumph delivers all the sound and feel of the most costly guitars in the line at a fraction of the cost.

Maintained in museum quality condition, this gleaming guitar has all original deep sunburst finish, free of pick, buckle, or thumb wear, with a handsome Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and original frets in excellent condition. One of the first examples with the postwar 'column' peghead inlay, this guitar boasts a soundboard finely carved of solid quartersawn bookmatched spruce, and a solid carved maple back, sides and neck.

The fingerboard is solid Brazilian rosewood, with a classic light V neck profile, with smooth low action over a fresh, high precision setup on fine original fretwork. The multi-ply binding is all original and tight to the body, and the original Pat. Pending Frequensator is solid at the bend. The adjustable Brazilian rosewood bridge is original too, along with the original bound red tortoise pickguard in excellent condition, a rare find, when so many have disintegrated over the years.

At just 5lb 12oz, the instrument is nicely lightweight and well balanced, with the power and projection to cut through an entire horn section, or the biggest outdoor jam session. The neck angle and bridge height are both excellent, and the trussrod at the end of the fingerboard has been recently adjusted.

Complete with its original brown Epiphone logo plush lined hardshell case, this is our most popular pro-sized Epiphone archtop. A perennial best buy, and an exceptional find, in true showroom condition. One only: call now.

Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridgewheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
