Notes: One of just 64 made in her model year, this remarkable instrument was the pinnacle of the Gibson line. One of the very last to bear the prewar 'fat-script' logo, this stunning instrument is built with a bookmatched handcarved fine grained spruce top, flame maple back and neck, bubble maple sides, and solid ebony fingerboard. Original gold hardware includes Kluson Sealfast tuners with single ring tulip keys, and hand engraved trapeze tailpiece with Varitone height adjuster.

A special plus is a very rare twin pickup Gibson "McCarty' floating pickguard pickup assembly with tone and volume controls and a 1/4" jack under the guard. Featuring specially adapted P-90 single coil pickups, this unique pickup system conveys the rich, warm tone of this big guitar with uncanny depth and clarity.

Professionally played here in the Pacific Northwest, the guitar has no cracks or buckle wear, and shows rich original sunburst finish shaded masterfully from rim to rim. The neck finish has been worn smooth as an old cello, a small patch of pickwear has been touched up near the guard, and an older pickup hole has been immaculately filled long ago, just under the McCarty neck pickup. The neck is remarkably contemporary in feel, with a medium C profile, and the action is effortless over fine medium-jumbo frets. The voice is clear, warm and commanding, with astounding volume and projection. Warm and rich, the 18" body is powerfully resonant, with breathtaking clarity and balance. Unplugged or through the amp, this versatile beauty is an exceptional value, and delivers the goods with massive tone the cutaway boxes can only dream of. Call now.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished as necessary; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished. This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings (.013-.057). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original Gibson Lifton brown deluxe plush lined hardshell case.
