Notes: The blonde Gibson L-7 model was produced between 1940 and 1956, and was constructed with the same body size, bracing and scale length as its costly cousin, the L-5. Natural finish examples were typically a fraction of the sunbursts produced, and were priced at a premium accordingly. The year this stunning specimen was crafted, a mere 14 blonde L-7's rolled off the line, total.

Gibson began work on this guitar in 1952, and it was completed in early 1953. The body shows extravagant figure in the arched maple back, deep rollers of flame in the sides, and a gorgeous pumpkin colored solid carved spruce top. Wonderfully maintained, the instrument shows all original deeply ambered natural blonde finish, with no cracks, pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Weighing barely 5lb. total, the guitar is exceptionally light in weight, and cradles effortlessly on the lap or the strap. The neck has a classic full rounded profile, and the action is smooth and low over fine original fretwork. The voice is notably full and forward, with excellent clarity and projection, and warm, woody overtones. A short centerseam separation under the tailpiece has been soundly resealed, and apart from a few random nicks, the guitar shows few signs of age altogether.

A rare find, in great condition, and proof positive that blondes really do have more fun. One only: call now.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished as needed; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

Case: Deluxe arched plush lined flight-style hardshell case.
