Body size at lower bout: 16". Scale length: 24 3/4" Nut Width: 1 9/16"

Materials: Solid mahogany neck; solid Brazilian rosewood fingerboard; arched slab-cut figured maple top, sides and back; dual-parallelogram mother of pearl fingerboard inlay and thistle peghead inlay; triple bound top, bound back.

Hardware: 100% original hardware includes nickel zig-zag trapeze tailpiece; compensated Brazilian rosewood adjustable bridge; Gibson Patent # humbucking pickup and electronics; beveled 5-ply pickguard; gold reflector cap knobs, nickel Kluson double ring tuners, bell truss rod cover.

Notes: Since its introduction in 1949, the Gibson ES-175 has been the most popular cutaway jazz guitar of all time. The 175 was Gibson's first model to be fitted with the humbucking pickup in 1957, and since its inception over six decades ago, the classic ES-175 has remained in the Gibson catalog continuously to this day. This classic single pickup version, lightweight, uncluttered and highly prized by jazzers, has been out of regular production since 1971.

This example has been maintained in gorgeous 100% original condition, free of cracks, pickwear, thumb or fingerboard wear, with a masterfully graduated light cherry sunburst finish and fine slab cut figure in the arched maple body. Perfect for the player looking for true vintage tone, but unwilling to wrestle with a chunky old-school neck, this guitar sports a sleek, gentle 'D' neck profile that glides like liquid through the hand. With smooth low action over original medium jumbo frets on a handsome Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, the instrument is utterly effortless to play.

Remarkably lightweight and well balanced, this handsome instrument weighs in at a mere 5 lb 14 oz. The 24 3/4" scale is fast and nimble, the original Pat # humbucker is rich and sweet, and the 16" body is easy to cradle and substantially resistant to feedback. Babied since new, this outstanding guitar is a particularly attractive example of Gibson's hardest-working jazz box.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.012-.054). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Deluxe original black arched hardshell case with plush lining.
