Sticker Gibson humbucking pickups and electronics, trapeze tailpiece with raised-parallelogram crossbar; compensated rosewood adjustable bridge; beveled 5-ply pickguard; 3 way control switch. Gibson Kluson Deluxe tuners and gold reflector cap knobs installed, original black bonnet knobs in case.

Notes: Since its introduction in 1949, the Gibson ES-175 has been the most popular jazz guitar in the world. The twin pickup ES-175D debuted in 1951, and the model became Gibson's first model to be fitted with the humbucking pickup in 1957. Since its inception, the classic ES-175 remained in the Gibson catalog continuously for almost seven decades until it was unexpectedly discontinued in 2019.

Gibson serial numbers are not precise for this era, but do indicate that this guitar left the factory sometime between 1974 and 1975. Built in the classic style with the solid mahogany neck, this guitar, at just 6lb 14oz, is both lighter and better balanced than the maple neck versions of the mid-70's, and carved without the headstock volute of later models as well.

Beautifully maintained, this handsome guitar has been kept in fine original condition for over four decades. Free of pick, thumb or fingerboard wear, the guitar shows brilliant plating, and all original sunburst finish. Apart from some scattered normal age checking, and some light buckle denting on the back, the guitar is remarkably free of playwear for an instrument of its vintage.

The top and back show light slab cut figure in the arched maple, and with excellent original medium jumbo frets, a gentle C profile neck, and a fresh high-precision setup, the action is smooth, low, and easy to play. The 24 3/4" scale is fast and nimble, the twin Pat. Sticker humbuckers are rich and sweet, and the 16" body is easy to cradle and nicely resistant to feedback.

A handsome instrument in a distinguished lineage that spans a lifetime of hard-working guitars, and a true best buy in a vintage Gibson from the original Kalamazoo factory. Now, Gibson's loss is your gain. One only, call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.012-.054). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Deluxe Gibson logo brown arched hardshell case with pink plush lining.
