Handbuilt in Kalamazoo by former Gibson artisans in the old Gibson plant, the Super Eagle is the flagship of the Heritage line. The equivalent to the Gibson Super 400C, the Super Eagle shares the same materials and specifications as its Gibson cousin, including the solid carved Englemann spruce top, solid flame maple back and sides, inlaid ebony fingerboard and parallel bracing.

An elegant X-braced single pickup jazz box, the guitar shows particularly outstanding tiger flame maple throughout. At just 5lb. 13oz, the guitar is exceptionally light in weight, particularly for a super jumbo size body. Accordingly, the guitar has a clear open voice, with excellent acoustic volume and projection. The instrument is in superb all original condition without cracks, pick, buckle or thumb or fingerboard wear, and shows only a few superficial lacquer dents near the bridge foot. Action is smooth and low over freshly dressed original medium jumbo fretwork, and the guitars is supplied with its original hardshell case. A bonus is the custom inlay, a cunningly accurate depiction of the Space Shuttle, inset in the ebonized curly maple pickguard. (For those with more earthbound tastes, an extra bound pickguard will be supplied.) With big guitar performance at a little guitar price, this Super Eagle is a true classic in a distinguished lineage of outstanding handmade American jazz guitars.
