Body size at lower bout: 15 5/8" Scale length: 25 9/16" Nut Width: 1 11/16"

Materials: Bookmatched solid Adirondack spruce top; solid highly figured bookmatched tiger flame maple back and sides; solid mahogany neck with solid ebony fingerboard; maple bound fingerboard and body; polished bone nut; solid ebony bridge; clear scratchplate; Sperzel 16X1 tuners.

Notes: From his workshop in scenic Vernon, British Columbia, deep in the Okanogan forest, master luthier Ted Thompson has been crafting world-class acoustic guitars for a select clientele since 1979. Built in the style of the classic Martin dreadnought, the Thompson DM is built with an X-pattern, scalloped braced, bookmatched quartersawn Adirondack spruce top, over a spectacular highly figured curly maple back and sides. The hard maple body lends the voice brilliance and punch, and the lightweight mahogany neck promotes excellent balance in the lap or on the strap.

This rare example is in superb condition, with all original hardware, finish and case: premium touches include solid maple binding, high precision Sperzel tuning machines, and a hex-key adjustable truss rod at the neck block. Maintained in superb condition, the guitar is free of pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Apart from a few incidental lacquer nicks, the guitar shows few signs of play. The voice is bright, open and powerful, with excellent sustain and projection, and the neck profile is an easy gentle "C" with smooth low action. An artful blend of traditional design and modern craftsmanship, Thompson handcrafted guitars are rarely found on the vintage market, and offer exceptional value to the serious player.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.013-.056), and will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference.

Case: Original deluxe plush lined hardshell case.
