Notes: The electric version of the L-5C, the L-5CES was introduced in 1951, and has been Gibson's top-line 17" electric guitar ever since. A favorite of pro players from George Barnes to Herb Ellis and Wes Montgomery, the L-5CES is built with solid carved tonewood throughout, all gold hardware, deluxe multi-ply binding, and twin humbucking pickups since 1957.

100% original, this striking guitar has all factory hardware and finish, with the back, sides and neck all extravagantly figured, with deep bookmatched flame. Well maintained, the instrument is free of cracks, pick, buckle, or fingerboard wear, with playwear mostly confined to some good honest thumbwear on the deeply figured tiger maple neck, some fog on the gold plating, and a few incidental lacquer nicks.

The neck has a comfy medium 'D' profile, neither too skinny nor overly full, with smooth low action over a fresh high-precision setup. The voice is warm, rich and sweet, with the full, classic voice of the most renowned jazz guitar of all time.

A handsome working guitar, and our most popular contemporary Gibson archtop, the L-5 CES is the player's choice. One only: call now.

Case: Deluxe black arched plush lined Heritage hardshell case.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge roundwound nickel strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
