Floating Benedetto S-6 humbucking pickup with extra 5-ply bound tortoise pickguard with tone and volume controls installed; original bound maple pickguard and pickup included.

Handbuilt in Kalamazoo by former Gibson artisans in the old Gibson plant, the Golden Eagle is the flagship of the Heritage line. The equivalent to the Gibson L-5C, the Golden Eagle shares the same materials and specifications as its Gibson cousin, including the solid carved spruce top, solid flame maple back and sides, and inlaid ebony fingerboard. An elegant X-braced single pickup jazz box, the guitar weighs just 5lb 12oz, and combines the deco look of the Epi Deluxe cloud inlays with outstanding tiger flame maple throughout.

The instrument is in superb all original condition without wood cracks, pick, buckle or thumb or fingerboard wear, and shows only a few superficial lacquer dents on the soundboard and a short hairline crack in the finish near the pickguard bracket. Action is smooth and low over freshly dressed original medium jumbo fretwork, and the guitar is supplied with its original hardshell case. The acoustic voice is notably bright and resonant, making this easily the liveliest sounding Golden Eagle we have played to date. A bonus upgrade is the Benedetto S-6 floating humbucker, installed on a 5 ply bound leopard shell pickguard. The guitar is wonderful condition and is supplied with its original hardshell case. A handmade classic at an unbeatable price.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original Heritage logo hardshell case.
