Notes: Handbuilt in Kalamazoo by former Gibson artisans in the old Gibson plant, the Golden Eagle is the flagship of the Heritage line. The equivalent to the Gibson L-5C, the Golden Eagle shares the same materials and specifications as its Gibson cousin, including the solid carved spruce top, solid flame maple back and sides, inlaid ebony fingerboard and X bracing, for added sustain and bass response. An elegant single pickup jazz box, the guitar combines art deco styling with outstanding solid carved tonewoods.

A classic acoustic jazz box, this guitar combines the art deco look of the classic Epiphone Deluxe style cloud inlays with particularly extravagant tiger flame maple throughout. At just 5lb 11oz the instrument is pounds lighter than current L-5 models, with a bright, clear voice faithfully amplified by the Kent Armstrong Floating PAF pickup, the gold standard for jazz humbuckers worldwide. The label indicates that both top and back were tap tuned at the factory, and the guitar certainly sounds like it: it easily has the finest acoustic voice we've heard on this model. A Gibson style gold trapeze tailpiece is installed, and the original Heritage pickup is included as well.

The instrument has been maintained in gleaming condition, without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, and smooth low action over a gentle D profile neck, with a fresh high precision setup over a solid ebony fingerboard. One of the hardest working guitars on the scene today, the Golden Eagle is a fully handmade US built classic jazz archtop, at an unbeatable price. Exceptional appearance, with equally superlative tone: one only, call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.011-.052). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Deluxe black plush lined hardshell case.
