Hardware: Solid ebony pickguard, tailpiece, compensated adjustable bridge, and control knobs; gold Schaller tuners with ebony keys; Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbucking pickup, with volume and tone controls and endpin jack; adjustable truss rod.

Notes: John Buscarino is one of the names you'll hear on virtually every short list of the premier contemporary archtop builders. Having worked closely with luthiery legend Bob Benedetto for a number of years, John also studied with the great Augie LoPrizi of classical and flat top fame. His artist list includes George Benson, Russell Malone, Ron Affif, Gene Bertoncini and many more, all keeping Buscarino's handmade instruments in considerable demand.

The Monarch is a full depth, hand carved acoustic archtop in the classic tradition, with an X- braced 17" body, all ebony hardware and fingerboard, and simply dizzying tonewood. The body and neck are crafted of intensely flamed maple, and the solid carved spruce soundboard shows exceptionally tight grain, closely interwoven with bearclaw figure throughout.

At barely 6lb, the instrument is finely balanced on the lap or the strap, with a deeply resonant acoustic voice. The neck has an elegant feel, with a gently flattened D profile, a generous 1 3/4" solid ebony fingerboard, and smooth low action over highly polished medium jumbo frets. The voice of the finely aged soundboard is amplified with superb fidelity with the Duncan Antiquity humbucking pickup, for enhanced sustain and feedback resistance.

This striking example has been maintained in stunning, virtually unplayed condition, with all original finish, hardware, and electronics. A special plus, the guitar is supplied with a set of custom soundhole plugs, to enhanced feedback suppression at higher volume levels. With impeccable fit, finish, and finesse, this hand built classic is a true showpiece by a modern master of the craft. And for one lucky player, it's available at a last-century price as well. One only: call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge flatwound nickel strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe black arched plush lined hardshell case.
